END OF SEASON 2005
Here we are at the end of the season, seems we just started the year. Over all a great summer, a
little hot but we survived and Wolverine only had 11/2 rained out events, Kalamazoo and half a session at Imlay City. Everyone gets thumbs up, Scott and I heard very few complaints hence the fact we didn't have many newsletters go out, I fugured you would rather have the money spent on postage put into the points fund instead of sending out letters with nothing to say and the points, when you could check your points at the events.
Speaking of points, everyone needs to check over their points to make sure I didn't goof (I am the first to say, I make mistakes). So check them over and let me know if there is any discrepancy, if I do not hear anything by November 1, 2005, I will figure all is correct.
We need to send out a big "Thank You" to all of our Contingency sponsors again. Our sponsors make this all happen--Thank You !! And an especially BIG THANK YOU to Auto Value and Gordy Hubbard, it just wouldn't be the same without you.
Our Winter Meetings start October 20, still held at the VFW in Charlotte, MI at 7:30. The next meeting will be December 15, same time and place.
Banquet--mark your calendars for Jan. 28, 2006. The banquet is being held at the same place as last year (Coldwater). We will also be Go-Karting that day, plan ahead and join us, we have a blast! I will be sending all this information out next month. Dan and Carol Nearpass are doing the arrangements again this year, Thanks so much!!!
I have enclosed a ballet for the "Pull of the Year" and "Puller of the Year" this is the only one that I will send out, so make your pick and send it back to me (they are on the same sheet this year). As members iot is your responsibility to pick who these awards go to. Also, if you have a traveling award from last season, be thinking who you will be forwarding these on to, and have them ready for banquet time. I will have contingency checks at the door.
We want to keep former FWD member Ed Noteboom, "First Generation" in our thoughts, he is dealing with some health issues, cards can be sent to;
30445 Bordman Rd., Riley, MI 48041
Ed get better soon!!!
We want to thank everyone who helped make the 2005 season a success, officials, entry clerks, distance keepers, announcers, track crew, tow tractors, anyone who pitched in and helped make a show happen. Thank you!!!!!!!!!
On the off season, keep the "Pullers Against Drugs" program in mind and if you think of or see anything that would help Pat and Steve Vandenberg out let one of them know.
If your house is like mine, you are trying to get everything caught up from being on the go all summer long. And things done before the snow flies.............that's depressing.
Take care,
Karen Allen
